Camberwell College of Arts (summer task)

10 pictures I find interesting :

I'm a big fan of nouveau art due to its focus on women, nature and line work, giving the figures a goddess like empowerment and at the same time the sweetness and kindness shown on their faces. I found this one interesting because this one is different from the others. It follows the theme and winding lines expected from nouveau art but the artist adds a view of a city conjugating the natural with the artificial which is what we see nowadays.

I found this one in the university's blog, and when i saw i immediately thought "Wallie!!"(Disney pixar movie). Not in a million years i would have thought that this was a "Microscopic detail of a fly's proboscis". Found it interesting because of the image that my mind built by looking at the photo.

I liked this sculpture because most of the time when i go out to draw i sit on benches like this, and I never thought about the structure and materials of the bench i only saw it has a place to sit. So this made me think abou how people establish ideas about an object(or person) and only see the object, from then on, by the terms they already established in their daily life.

I found this one very interesting because of the detailed composition, the variety of lines used to make the human eye understand the materials and light/shadow represented on this image.

I find this one interesting for its colors and the simplicity of the work.

In my opinion the first thing that comes to my mind when i see this painting is the word "loneliness"and "reflection", and i kind of relate to it when look at years back from now.

This one is interesting because i can keep looking at it and find more details to look at.

I really like artist, Lora Zombie. She uses mostly watercolors for her work, a medium I'm very fond of, and she can really achieve most of the material's expression. Tryed to paint some of her works but the thing i like about watercolor is that its difficult to achieve the same results. The painting itself just shows freedom of mind, and the need to apply it (or at least thats what i feel like doing when i see this).

I liked this one because of the mysticism of the environment where the figure is found.

What attracted me in this were (obviously) the expressiveness of the lines.
